Mark noticed a milk crate in his workshop – the inspiration for The Pump Defender. He modified the milk crate, adding a small mesh filter screen to keep smaller debris from reaching the pump. Mark's study materials worked well, and the ease of cleaning the crate, simply rinsing off with a hose, made this invention the first step to developing what is now The Pump Defender.
